This holiday season, the Surfing Santas of Cocoa Beach and the non-profit organization Who We Play For made waves during a special feature on FOX 35 Orlando’s Good Day Orlando. The live broadcast highlighted the upcoming Surfing Santas event on December 24, 2024, and its ambitious goal to host the world’s largest CPR and AED training session.
Who We Play For, founded to prevent Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in youth, is teaming up with Surfing Santas to offer life-saving education and free ECG heart screenings on the beach. Evan Ernst, Executive Director of Who We Play For, shared emotional stories of lives saved through early detection and CPR, while reminding viewers of the devastating impact of SCA on families and communities.
The event will take place on Christmas Eve morning at Cocoa Beach, behind Coconuts on the Beach. Attendees will not only enjoy the festive spectacle of hundreds of Santas surfing the waves but also have the chance to learn essential CPR skills that could save lives. With thousands expected to participate, the event captures the true spirit of the season—joy, community, and giving back.
